AN ORIGINAL

Paul Ziemer describes this glass block and bracket as a "one-of-a-kind". Found intact by tree trimmers in the Pacific Northwest just a few years ago, Paul believes this is the only original block & bracket known for a CD 1003. Glass blocks were initially used in the 1850's. However, they were advertised in electrical supply catalogs up to the 1920's... as tree insulators. Apparently not many sold, as very few glass blocks have survived. Brackets are virtually non-existent, as the wood just rotted away.
